Hi! I’m Gui and this is my LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Express 75955 review.

I got this set for my birthday a couple of years ago, and it’s still one of my favorite builds ever. I was already a huge fan of the movies, so when I opened the box and saw the red train from Hogwarts, I basically freaked out. šŸ˜…
Even after our family moved houses a couple of times, this is one of the sets I had to rebuild and keep on display in my room.

Building the Train & Platform

The set comes with King’s Cross Station and Platform 9¾, plus the Hogwarts Express train and a carriage. I really like how you build the little bridge with the clock and the stairs that go up to the platform. The coolest part is the moving brick wall that lets you ā€œwalkā€ your minifigures through to Platform 9¾, just like in the movie.

The train itself looks awesome on the shelf. You can remove the roof and the side of the carriage so it’s easy to put the minifigures inside. There are four seats, so I usually put Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Professor Lupin there, and then I have the Dementor swoop in and attack the train.

Minifigures & Play Features

You get Harry, Ron, Hermione, Remus Lupin, the Trolley Witch, a Dementor, and Scabbers. That’s a lot of characters for one set, which makes it really fun to play with. I always reenact the scene where the Dementor comes into the carriage and Lupin uses the Patronus charm to save Harry.

The Trolley Witch is really cool too. She has a little trolley with a chocolate frog and other sweets, and I like ā€œrollingā€ her through the train asking, ā€œAnything off the trolley, dears?ā€

There are also tons of accessories: trunks, wands, newspapers, the King’s Cross sign, and a ā€˜Wanted’ poster. Small details like these make the whole platform feel more like the actual movie.

Difficulty & Age Level

I think the build is perfect for kids who like LEGO and Harry Potter. It’s not super hard, but it’s not too easy either. I was able to build most of it by myself when I was 10, and the instructions were clear. The train is long and looks really impressive when it’s finished.

Final Thoughts

If you’re a Harry Potter fan, I really recommend the LEGO Hogwarts Express 75955. It looks amazing on display, but it’s also great for playing out scenes from the movies or making up your own stories on the way to Hogwarts.
